A conversation with Kate Lawson

Professional of the Week

Meet Kate Lawson – Texas-Based Foot Care Specialist with a Passion for Results and Relationships

This week, we’re proud to feature Kate Lawson, a respected foot care professional and salon owner from Dallas, Texas, as our Imperial Feet Professional of the Week. With a reputation for delivering real results and a warm, personal touch, Kate is proof that passion and professionalism can build not just a business, but a loyal community.

Sylke: Welcome, Kate! Can you tell us a bit about your journey?

Kate Lawson: Thank you! My journey started in skincare, but I quickly realized how overlooked foot care was. When I began working with clients who were dealing with painful calluses, cracked heels, and nail issues, it hit me—this is essential work. Helping people feel confident and pain-free in their life became my mission.

Sylke: You work with several of our products - do you have a favorite?

Kate Lawson: I absolutely love the Callus Remover & Cuticle Oil. The callus remover gives immediate results, clients are always amazed at the difference after just one treatment. Then I finish with the cuticle oil, which feels luxurious and deeply hydrating.

Sylke: You’re known for your client relationships. What’s your secret to sending people home happy?

Kate Lawson: It’s really about being present. I listen carefully, tailor every treatment, and educate without overwhelming. A simple foot care tip or recommending the right product can empower clients to care for themselves between visits. I also never rush, I want them to feel seen, cared for, and valued. That’s what keeps them coming back.

Sylke: If you could add one new product to the Imperial Feet line, what would it be?

Kate Lawson: I’d love to see a nice warm balm for tired, achy feet with a gentle warming sensation that relaxes muscles and improves circulation.

Sylke: What advice would you give to professionals who want to grow their salon financially?

Kate Lawson: Focus on value, not volume. Upselling isn’t about pushing products, it’s about solving problems. If you’re using quality products, you can confidently recommend products for home care. Those add-ons build trust and boost revenue. Also, track your numbers! Knowing what services bring in the most return, where your product usage is most efficient, and when to run promotions makes a huge difference.

Sylke: What inspires you to keep going to work every day?

Kate Lawson: The people. Every appointment is a chance to help someone feel better, walk easier, and love their feet again. And knowing I have treatmens that truly work, like the Imperial Feet line, makes my job so much more powerful.
